That time of day when we boycott our diet
Have you ever had a sweet or salty craving right in the afternoon? We bet yes, and also that you are not the only one. Because a recent British study shows that most of us are more likely to boycott our diet around 4:12 p.m.
To reach this conclusion, a British research group studied the habits of 1,000 men and women, resulting in 45 percent of them recognizing that the afternoon is the time slot in which they usually finish their New Year's resolutions. And when the researchers asked the participants about a specific time between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. when they would betray their goals, the answer was 4:12 p.m.
Luckily, there are two ways to curb your hunger pangs. First of all, you can eat a light snack that has about 200 calories between 3 and 4 p.m. This way you won't be hungry at the witching hour. The recommendation is that you eat something that has fiber and protein (an apple for example) because this combination will make you feel fuller for longer.
The other option? Consider going to the gym after work. This positive thought, even if it's just a quick workout, will keep you away from temptation because you know that if you stuff yourself before going to the gym, you'll end up not going.
